The experimental study compared the performance of two Philippine Wireless Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Globe Telecom and Smart Communications, in WLAN implementation using a mobile phone as a hotspot. The study focused on variables such as network load, time of access, and type of content, and found that Smart Communications consistently provided faster web page load times compared to Globe Telecom across these factors. The research was conducted using statistical tools like the mean and t-test at a 0.05 level of significance, leading to the conclusion that Smart Communications was superior for WLAN implementation through mobile hotspots.
