The study analyzed the gut contents of 141 wild Scylla olivacea juveniles from two size classes, revealing that crustaceans were the most frequent and numerically abundant component in their diet. Molluscs, plant material, detritus, echinoderms, fish, and various other fragments were also identified, with foraminiferans showing the least occurrence and abundance. The findings suggest that both plant and animal food items can be effectively incorporated into S. olivacea juvenile diets, which can aid in diet development for these mud crabs.
