Mangroves are a unique type of forest located in the intertidal zone of tropical and subtropical regions, playing a crucial role in coastal ecosystems by providing habitat, protecting shorelines, and storing carbon. In Gogo, Estancia, Iloilo, Philippines, a study identified eight mangrove species from six families and six genera, with Avicennia marina and Rhizophora mucronata being the most prevalent. Rhizophora stylosa showed the highest plant density and was deemed the most important species, highlighting the importance of understanding mangrove community structure for conservation efforts.
