This study focuses on developing a computer-based system specifically designed for the Guidance Office of the Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College to monitor student attendance and absences, incorporating one-way interactive text messaging functionality. It features a stand-alone architecture allowing only the Guidance Counselor to manage the system, while also assisting department heads in easily accessing and viewing student reports, which can be printed in real-time. An additional SMS feature notifies parents or guardians if their child is absent, and testing results indicated the new system improved performance by 1111% in comparison to the current system.
