Relationship Between the Academic Achievement and Neat Scores among Grade VI Pupils of Pa-on Elementary Schools

Abstract This descriptive-correlational study aimed to as certain the relationship of grade VI pupil's academic achievement and NEAT Scores. This research utilized all 58 sixth-grade pupils of Pa-on Elementary School, Estancia, Iloilo who took the National Elementary Achievement Test during the school year2000-2001. The study was conducted in February 2002. The data for the study were the pupils' grade point average for the school year 2000-2001 and their NEAT Scores. These data were obtained respectively from their Permanent Record (Form137-E) available at the office of the Principal of the school. Descriptive statistics employed was the Mean. Inferential statistics were the Person for correlation and that-test for the differences. Significance was seat. 05 alpha level for two-tailed tests. There search findings revealed that the grade VI pupils of Pa-on Elementary School, Estancia, Iloilo, reflected an average academic achievement and NEAT Scores when they were taken as an entire group and classified as to gender. The pupils' academic achievement was found to be significantly related with their NEAT scores whether they were taken as an entire group.
