This experimental study evaluated the signal strength performance of various IEEE 802.11 protocols in wireless networks, focusing specifically on the 802.11ac protocol using laptops to measure signal strength. The study involved configuring routers with different IEEE 802.11 protocols and subjecting them to obstructions such as glass and concrete, varying distances, and frequencies of 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz. The findings indicated no significant differences in signal strength due to obstructions or distance across the protocols, but there were significant differences in signal strength at different frequencies when classified according to the IEEE 802.11 protocols.
