Iloilo, March 2002 Abstract This descriptive study aimed to determine the teaching competencies of teachers as perceived by the grade VI pupils of Estancia Central School during the school year 2001-2002. It further attempted to find out tie significant differences in the teaching competencies of the teachers as perceived by the grade VI pupil a classified an to certain categories. The study utilized the 198 randomly selected grade VI pupils in Estancia Central School. Estancia, Iloilo. The lottery method of sampling was employed in the selection of the pupils. There search was conducted in September 2001. The data were gathered with the use of the Teaching Competencies Scale which was subjected to validity testing by three research experts and reliability using the test-retest method.
