This study examines the current value chain analysis and management practices of scallops in Gigantes Island, Carles Iloilo, utilizing a qualitative method through interviews with ten stakeholders such as fisherfolks, processors, traders, and exporters. The harvesting of scallops is a seasonal and unstable livelihood, challenged by weather conditions and involves intricate processing steps to produce various products with specific market values. There are recommendations for improving food safety, supporting business associations, and establishing local government regulations to control pricing and manage trade permits, ensuring a sustainable scallop industry.
